If Yellowstone is out of your range due to time constraints, then the Beartooth Highway is for you! The Beartooth Highway was said by On the Toad correspondent Charles Kuralt to by "the most beautiful roadway in America." The Beartooth Highway climbs to an astounding 10,947 feet above sea level and since its completion in 1936 it has awed visitors with it's astonishing views of one of the most rugged and wild areas in the lower 48 states.
We will also stop in the historic mountain village of Red Lodge. This town offers shopping and foods that represent the many ethnic groups who traveled to the area to mine coal, ranch and farm. You will hear stories of the Crow Indians, mountain men, coal miners, Pony Express riders, and world famous cowboys and cowgirls.
